![]() ![]() Janeway realises something that no other Starfleet Captain realised in three centuries: it's really stupid to beam the entire command staff over to dangerous situations. STORY: The Federation starship Voyager is lost in the Delta Quadrant!!! (For more background, watch the entire of Star Trek: Voyager). Rick Berman did famously demand that the 90s Star Trek shows have "wallpaper" music, so there you go! Me and the Saturn lads will come round there and do it for you if you say anything like this ever again. I don't deserve to live in the same world as NiGHTS.ĭon't beat yourself up mate. I hate it more than many historical atrocities. I honestly hate it more than most diseases. ![]() I'll try again to like it, and I'll fail because there's nothing to like. ![]() I've bought it I think three times now, like "maybe this time it'll click". I've gone back to it so much, convinced I'm missing something. Constant camera shifts, unreadable graphics, absolutely fucked perspective. I'm not even doing a bit, I've tried to get into it so many times and it's borderline unplayable. I swear that everyone is just pretending to like NiGHTS as some sort of permanent lifelong windup on me. I think you'll find that Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams was objectively the best thing ever to be stuck to the front of a magazine.Ĭareful now, don't let on that the Saturn was good, it's a secret Quote from: madhair60 on May 20, 2021, 09:39:52 AM Elite Force, which I'm playing now, and No One Lives Forever both have a ton of stealth too, of both the forced and optional varieties. It's interesting how many FPS games from this period were trying to mix stealth in. Looking forward to replaying it, and now that you've mentioned the game's quasi-stealth stuff, I'll be on the lookout for levels that allow it. I have nothing but fond memories of RTCW, though the zombie levels definitely do grate a bit - I remember a particular ball-ache being some kind of fire-zombie that could throw fireballs at the player. I hope you play the game deeply when it comes around, Lemming, I'd like to hear of someone else enjoying the game on the level I do. Bit of an underrated game, the multiplayer is all anyone talks about. Some missions are crap, particularly anything involving the uber-soldaten or zombies, but there are heaps of good ones to choose and play over and over. I even like the two compulsory stealth missions, but it's such fun finding semi-secret ways to sneak through action levels. So many levels can be played though like a stealth game, with the knife and, later, the silenced pistol, Sten gun and Snooper rifle. I love the optional stealth that riddles RtCW. I'd be up for doing it myself, but we'd end up playing Age of Empires, accompanied by a full page of me explaining how it just barely manages to fit the criteria. Someone really should do a THIRD-PERSON SHOOTER NIGHTMARES thread, there were so many great ones in this era. My one and only regret with the whole FPS definition stuff is that I can't find a way to contort the term "FPS" enough so that it includes Max Payne. ![]()
